The Toyo Ito Museum of Architecture on Omishima island in the Seto Inland Sea is Japan's first museum dedicated to the work of a single architect. Designed by Toyo Ito himself, the complex consists of two buildings: the Steel Hut, clad in steel plates with polygonal facets, and the Silver Hut, a reconstruction of Ito's former Tokyo residence. The museum explores Ito's architectural philosophy through models, drawings, and multimedia installations.
