Open contemporary art museum in Towada with indoor and outdoor installations along Arts Towada street.
The Towada Art Center in Aomori Prefecture presents contemporary art in a distinctive building designed by Ryue Nishizawa, with each artwork housed in its own white cube connected by glass corridors. The Arts Towada project also extends into the streetscape, with outdoor installations by leading international artists lining the main avenue. Notable works include Ron Mueck's giant "Standing Woman" and Yayoi Kusama's polka-dotted sculptures.
