The Otsuka Museum of Art in Naruto, Tokushima, is the largest museum in Japan by floor space and displays over 1,000 life-size ceramic reproductions of Western masterpieces from 190 museums worldwide. Using a special ceramic plate technique, the museum faithfully recreates works from ancient frescoes to modern paintings, including the Sistine Chapel ceiling and Monet's Water Lilies, allowing visitors to experience world art without leaving Japan.

Access
Take a bus from JR Naruto Station or Tokushima Station to Otsuka Museum of Art stop (about 20 minutes from Naruto, 65 minutes from Tokushima). Also accessible by highway bus from Kansai airports.
Tips for Visitors
Allow a full day — the museum is enormous with 4 km of walking paths through the galleries. Start from the basement level and work upward. Comfortable shoes are essential. The museum's restaurant offers dining in front of "The Last Supper."
