Le Corbusier-designed UNESCO World Heritage museum in Ueno housing the Matsukata Collection.
The National Museum of Western Art in Ueno Park is the only Le Corbusier-designed building in East Asia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Founded on the Matsukata Collection of Impressionist and modern European art, it houses over 6,000 works spanning the Renaissance to the 20th century, including paintings by Monet, Renoir, Rubens, and a comprehensive Rodin sculpture collection in the forecourt.
