Minimalist museum on Naoshima by Tadao Ando dedicated to Korean artist Lee Ufan.

The Lee Ufan Museum on Naoshima island, designed by Tadao Ando, is dedicated to the works of Korean-born, Japan-based artist Lee Ufan, a leading figure of the Mono-ha (School of Things) movement. The semi-underground concrete structure creates meditative spaces where Lee's minimalist paintings and sculptures engage in dialogue with Ando's architecture and the surrounding natural landscape.

Access

Ferry from Takamatsu Port to Naoshima Miyanoura Port (about 50 minutes), then shuttle bus to the museum area. Located between Benesse House and Chichu Art Museum.

Tips for Visitors

The museum is intimate and can be visited in about 45 minutes. Combine with Chichu Art Museum and Benesse House Museum on the same day. The outdoor sculptures are worth lingering over for contemplation.
