Ryue Nishizawa-designed museum with curved glass walls, exhibiting Hiroshi Senju's waterfall paintings.
The Hiroshi Senju Museum in Karuizawa, designed by Ryue Nishizawa, is dedicated to the waterfall paintings of Japanese artist Hiroshi Senju. The building features a gently undulating floor that follows the natural slope of the land, with floor-to-ceiling glass walls that blur the boundary between the gallery and the surrounding birch forest. Senju's luminous nihonga waterfall paintings are displayed in this light-filled, organic space.
