青森県の十和田市現代美術館は、西沢立衛設計の独特な建築で、各作品がガラスの廊下でつながれた個別の白いキューブに収められています。アーツトワダプロジェクトは通り沿いにも展開され、国際的アーティストの屋外作品が並んでいます。ロン・ミュエクの巨大な「スタンディング・ウーマン」や草間彌生の水玉彫刻が特に有名です。
