安藤忠雄設計の秋田県立美術館は、レオナール・フジタ（藤田嗣治）の大壁画「秋田の行事」を所蔵しています。縦3.65m×横20.5mのこの作品は世界最大級の絵画の一つです。三角形の水庭とミニマルなコンクリート建築が瞑想的な空間を生み出しています。フジタは1937年にわずか15日間でこの傑作を描き上げ、秋田の祭りと日常を表現しました。
